OM617s are not known for extreamly good MPG. Even in the auto 300D cars they typically get around 30 mpg in real world driving with a weight of around 3600lbs. My fear would be the Colorado is probaly close to 4600lbs and the gearing will have you way out side of the OM617 operating range.The OM615 is just at the 4-cylinder version of the OM61x engine series, the OM616 being the 5-cylinder and the OM617 being the 6-cylinder versions.
